Formal Dinners

Yup, can't think of anything to say about the fruits of the spirit at the moment, in case you haven't noticed that I was working my way through them in a rather random order.

Sigh - the last Winter Banquet ever. What a scary thought. Makes me feel really old too. It was quite enjoyable, but I kept wondering what the waiters and waitresses were thinking: we're supposed to be a Christian school, and yet we hardly showed it through the entire evening besides a brief prayer and two line bible passage at the beginning and a joke of a prayer at the end.

That's sad. I hate it when people forget that they're ambassadors/on display in that kind of setting. I know I make mistakes when I'm not thinking about it, but those should be exceptions, not the norm. At least you enjoyed the evening...Where was the banquet?

ps. don't worry, you're not really old

When I was in Guido (wow, now I'm feeling old!) that seemed to be the norm. It was far too easy to take for granted that we were all Christians and we didn't have to prove anything to eachother, so many people didn't tend to show it. Which unfortunately carried over to extra-curricular activities. It's one of the downfalls of having such a closed school community.

Ya, i have to agree... it was a great evening, but our walk and talk as Christians wasn't showing.

The banquet was held at Carmen's again, which is somewhere in Hamilton, but don't ask me where exactly because I cannot keep a map in my head.

There was another part too, when the announcement was made that Zac Aasman had been cancer free for two years. I was hoping that we would sing Hymn 6, or something short like that, instead of cheering.

Thanks for the reassurance, Joel, but try having three siblings all under the age of five that you babysit constantly. It makes you feel really old - I even had to stop and think of how old I was this morning - a true sign of aging.

lol, Maria, try hanging out with your classmate's six-month-old baby. As for forgetting your age, you're only truly old when you remember it wrong : ) Maybe you can use that for comfort next time you're babysitting your siblings.

You have not met my siblings. I'll take a picture along next time I come to Redeemer, which might be in a couple weeks, and explain their "delicate" temperaments.

What about when all the musicians were using their talents? I thought that was pretty God honouring.
